Project background:
Located in Lithuania, Harbor Klaipeda is the only ice-free harbor in the Baltic Sea. As the largest port in Lithuania, it is the junction of the Asia-Europe transport corridors and the North-South communicating arteries of the Baltic Sea, and a collecting and distributing center and transfer station for foreign import and export materials in Lithuania. As it has the same railway track system as the CIS, its freight volume has been rapidly increased in the last decade. Therefore, it is the most important industrial and transport center in Lithuania.
